What we’ll do during our adventure packed road trip
Itinerary
Day 1 - Cape Town Waterfront
- Starting in the early morning kayaking along Cape Town’s beautiful coast, dolphins, seals and even whales are normally spotted.
- After the morning workout, a well deserved brunch at one of the cities many weekend brunch spots.
- Learning about the history of South Africa and Apartheid at the District Six museum
- Lunch will be at the V&A Waterfront, with a large selection of Halal food options, beautiful views and plenty of places to buy souvenirs
- Ending the day with a boat trip to Robbin Island, where Nelson Mandela was locked up for 27 years
Day 2 - Safari
- We’ll head straight out of Cape Town for a 2 hour drive to the nearest game reserve where we’ll be able to see some of South Africa’s ‘Big 5’ including lions, rhino’s, giraffes and elephants!
- We’ll spend the night sleeping in the Karoo in a glamping tent, eating South Africa’s famous ‘braai’ under the night sky
Day 3 - Franschhoek
- We’ll start heading back to Cape Town, but not without a stop at Babylonstoren in Franschhoek to visit some of the world’s most beautiful farmland.
- We’ll arrive back in Cape Town in the early evening just in time for dinner.
Day 4 - Penguins and Cape of Good Hope
- We’ll be heading all around Cape Town’s ‘hook’, first to boulder’s beach to see the penguins
- We’ll then continue down to Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope to see the southern most tip of Africa
- Carrying along the other side of the coast, we’ll be doing the world famous ‘Chapman’s Peak drive’ taking in the beautiful sunset.
- We’ll be back in Cape Town for dinner
Day 5 - Langa Township
- We’ll start the day off with a guided tour of Lange - one of Cape Town’s first Townships and learn about the history of the community.
- For lunch we’ll be trying the original South African ‘Gatsby’ - a massive sandwich enough to feed 4.
- We’ll end the day on Camps Bay beach to enjoy the waves.
Day 6 - Hike up Lion’s Head & Paragliding
- We’ll start the day fresh with a hike up Lions Head to take in the scenic views of Cape Town from above.
- We’ll then head down for lunch amongst the colourful houses of Bo-Kaap
- We’ll end the afternoon with Paragliding off of Signal Hill in case you weren’t yet tired of the views
Day 7 - Seal Snorkelling
- We’ll be taking a boat trip to Seal Island - a small rock formation inhabited by thousands of seals to swim among them
- We’ll then be having a hearty lunch in Kalk bay, before heading back to take the cable car up Table Mountain
Day 8 - Ostrich Farm & Surfing
- We’ll start the day at the Ostrich Farm where you can try some Ostrich scrambled eggs
- We’ll then head to Kirstenbosch gardens, Africa’s largest botanical gardens for a stroll and lunch
- We’ll end the day with a Surf lesson at Muizenburg beach.
Day 9, Flight Back
We’ll set off early in the morning for our flight back to our respective destinations and conclude our trip!
